Eye Eye

I spent this morning up at school doing my bit. Monday mornings I help with the "better reading" scheme in Class 2 then I move into Class 1 to help with spellings til 12. Well this morning, just before lunch time, my little girl, Beth, bumped her head on the corner of a unit whilst trying to get a towel to dry her hands, and smack, she fell to the floor. She had a cut just above her eye. At first glance it just looked like a blood blister type mark and it wasn't until we wiped it with a medical wipe that it bled! She was a very brave girl and so was Mummy until out of sight when I had a little panic! Anyway, phoned the Doctors who said it was an A&E job.
We have a fantastic head who came along to A&E with me - We worried that if it started bleeding in the car whilst I was driving, Beth might get upset and I would panic! Thought we would go to Newark as it is a small A&E and we would be seen quickly - wrong! Waiting time on the notice boards "2-3hours". We did leave an hour and 30 minutes later! So not too bad.
The triage nurse assed the cut, then sent us to the waiting room again. The Dr then called us and took Beth's patch off and squeezed the cut and made it bleed again - Beth never flinched - soooo Brave. Then another Nurse came along and put a steri strip on and then glued it and put two more strips on and off we went.


Beth hasn't complained of a headache or shown any distress at all. The Dr gave her ears and throat a quick check over and informed me she had inflammed tonsils!!! She doesn't have a sore throat - yet!

We spent some of the afternoon planting out our beans and putting the pea seeds in. she also had to plant sunflowers for a school competition - a Happy Bunny!
