Donna Nook 19/11/08

19th November : The electricity board have turned the power off in our village and in Harby. So no school. Bundled up in the car and headed off to Donna Nook to see the seals. It's been a couple of years since we last visited, and how it has changed. Lots and lotss of people, but then again we were at the end of the season in January 2006 and this year we timed it just right (for seals). Still it seems quite "touristy" now.

My goodness what a lot of blubber! The newly born seals look all white and fluffy and cuddly. Soon changed our minds on the cuddle factor when a pup was close to the fence lying on its back with its mouth open - my oh my - what lovely sharp teeth!

For big fat creatures with no legs they can certainly move fast over land.
