Thursday 17th April 2007 - Chooks

Tuesday 8th April, my parents came over and helped to building the shed for the chickens.
Wedensday 16th April, the Mother-in-Law and I spent the day building a fence in the chicken Run.

Thursday 17th - three girls arrive to their new home.

It was a spur of the moment moment! Liz and I went to South Scarle Farm shop and they had just put 3 chickens out for sale. So we made up the box we had taken with us (just in case) and popped them and took them home.

We now have three chickens at the back of the veggie patch. We came up with the names Jemima, Ella and Jessie as they were the only three sisters we knew (sorry Zoes!).

After 4 hours we were given our first egg which Ella promptly ate! Was this a sign of things to come?
